Hi! I’m looking into whether there is a real need for better-organized status/condition icons in Godot 4 RPGs and roguelikes. This is early research only: there’s no product, download, or sale.
Some existing packs already include PNGs, atlas JSON, and Godot examples, so I’d rather ask developers than assume another pack would help.
If you’re working with buffs/debuffs (poison, stun, bleed, etc.) in Godot 4:
-
How do you currently connect an effect ID to its icon and tooltip?
-
What, if anything, takes the most work: naming and visual consistency, readability at small sizes, separating buffs from debuffs, localization keys, or individual PNGs versus atlases?
-
Would a small manifest connecting a stable
status_id, type, display name, localization key, and PNG/atlas mapping solve a real problem? Or do existing free packs already cover this? -
Would you handle this yourself, use a free pack, or consider paying for something that actually saves setup time? No price or preorders are involved.
Real examples are especially helpful, including reasons why this idea wouldn’t be useful. No signup, downloads, or private messages requested.
