The Godot Asset Store is up as a beta site.
Curiously no announcement about it. Is there any reason not to mention it (hopefully I am not stepping on toes here)?

There isn’t much there at the moment however its a glimpse of what is coming.
It also does not work with the older Firefox 115.23 (fwiw)
I would guess they were trying to soft launch, but I watched a video about this yesterday on YT already.
The tabs bother me, there should be one line of tabs in the product boxes with the last one being “+2 more” if they don’t fit. The slider is awful at the top. The text is too big on the product titles and the grey bg is horrible. I suspect this must be a purely functional layout as yet just plonked out by the developers and a designer is yet to look at it and the UI. Perhaps that is why there was no announcement, it just isn’t finished yet.
It is exciting though, and could be a great source of income for the Godot foundation. Also of course for developers that contribute and sell on there.
I can see quality control being a problem but there is a review system which will help with that. I can also see refund demands being an issue as is always the case with online stores, so I hope they have planned this all out carefully. I also hope they have developer ratings, so like Kenny did, or they do on fiverr, a developer can build trust about their product quality and service levels etc for maintenance.
However I trust Godot has thought through all these things and has a plan in place for all the possible downsides.
Look forward to seeing this mature.
PS Adding an official “Godot tested and approved” badge on them would be nice too. Or maybe, like the apple and play store are supposed to, they will check everything before it goes up.
Interesting.
It seems to be curated - there are only 92 items in the store. I’m worried about how they’re going to keep up with it.
I’m also curious what this will do to itch.io as a source for Godot resources.
