Github’s real pricing page lists $0 for individuals and small teams
You make a private GitHub repo and share it with your team members. Then use a communication app like Discord or something else to communicate with them. You discuss with them how to make the game. Well, that’s it! After adding something new, every member will make a commit.
Well, if you’re the programmer and another teammate is an artist, then there’s no need to use GitHub.
Does GitHub even have paid plans? I never saw these lol.
Thanks for this nice explanation!![]()

What did you make to make him jealus?
I dunno, he just used some rude words duh. Hope @wchc will nuke him quick.
That’s what he’s best at!
You wrote code that did not handle chunks when streaming, and in the comments that YOLO showing you didn’t care, and then when called out editted it away while u pretend to play nice to newbies for karma points.
Seriously, the people here are mostly pretend nice.
I enjoy coding, it was my side project. That’s why I did YOLO.
Maybe that is true, maybe it isn’t. Who knows? You only have the face value of what is typed, you cannot discern a persons true nature. And pretending to be nice if you really are not, is better than not pretending surely?
This forum has been nothing but respectful, helpful, interesting, inspiring, encouraging and non-judgemental about newbie errors for me. With some of the most generous and experienced developers always willing to offer their time, help and advice. One of the nicest and most valuable forums I have ever encountered.
On collaboration, in game dev, I have never done it. I am not sure it would go well as my games are often worked around my own weaknesses so I can avoid them. I am considering entering the GMTK Game Jam in July though.
Not sure I will be brave enough to try a collaboration though. (Could be my imposter syndrome)
people here say github is free, but even if it was paid - it’s just QoL app, you can send files over net, or create your own repositories using folders & files - harder, but free
