How does one make a grid-based movement system like that of Advance Wars?

Hi all.

I was wondering how one would go about making a grid-based movement system like that found in Advance Wars. To be specific, I want to make a strategy game where players would use the mouse to select units, “draw” a path through some tiles, and click again to create the destination. The units, when the movement phase is active, will follow the path.

Honestly, I’d suggest doing a search on YouTube for “godot grid movement” (or similar). There are quite a number of available tutorials on that topic that would probably be much more useful than a forum post answer…
