how to change main "listener" of stereo sounds

As far as I know, the current camera2D is selected as the main “listener” (if the object is located to the left of the middle of the camera, it will be heard on the left). But my camera is static, so the stereo doesn’t work the way I need it. I need the stereo to work from the player’s node.
How to make a player’s node the main “listener”?

The Listener node used to override the sound listening position is only available in 3D, not in 2D. There’s a pull request adding it for 2D:
