How to make the emission mask of particles change dynamically

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew anyway to change the emission mask dynamically, or depending on what happens in the world. Basically, I have a character who I am having smoke below him, but as he moves, the smoke needs to change its emission shape. If anyone needs any clarification or questions lmk, and thanks in advance :slight_smile:
