How do you make the engine show an error if some condition happens?

Do you mean in the console output?

I think you can simulate an error, the game will stop running.

To display errors in the debug panel:

push_error("string")
push_warning("string")

To display errors in the output panel:

printerr("string")

Additionally to break operation assert(condition)
