How to rename animations after you have already named them.

Hi fellow Godot users, I am a newer user learning Godot so there may be an easier way that I’m not aware of yet. If so please comment another way! With out further a due, here is a quick guide on how to rename a animation after you have already set it.

  1. Go to your animation tab at the bottom of your screen (by default).
  2. Once in the animation tab go up to the “Animation” and click it.

Once clicked you will see a label called “Rename”, there you can rename the animation. For example before I named my animation it was called “Movingplatform” and now I changed it to “MovingUpwards_platform”.

REMEMBER!!! You will have to go into the script you have and change it to the “Renamed” animation name.

I think that most people knew that or they could easily figured it out but it’s good to know!

I was actually unable to figure this one out myself, as a fellow new user! Kept trying the kabob menu or right-clicking the animation name, maybe F2. This post saved me a few minutes!
