I'm new - hi: this is my project

Hi all,

New to the forums - I’ve been toying with Godot for around 6 months, made around a dozen side projects and counting, amalgamating them into a little game for and about my 2 young sons :

The idea is an action rpg, isometric-ish, you play as both charcters, switching on the fly - one melee focused, one shooting focused, to defeat waves of enemies.

Very early stages, just got it “playable” - enemies spawn, run around and attack with behaviour trees, can die, ragdoll (poorly), explode into particles. Main characters can dash, attack and switch.

Ideally looking for an artist to team up with - I’m a programmer not an artist.

Wanted to say hi, share my project to help keep motived.

Cheers
James

This sounds like a cool concept. Do you have plans to add either local or online co-op? This seems like the perfect game for that.

Also, be glad you shared your project. You’ve already got one eye on your work. :+1:

Thats so cute!
As an artist, not a programmer, would love to help out! My computer for 3D art is currently out of commission but I’d love to help out when I get it back up and running. : )

Most of us programmers need an angel artist. I certainly would love it! I think all of us programmers have had the experience of looking for an artist to partner with, only to be rebuffed in one way or another.

I’ve always wonders if artists have faced the same experiences: “I’m an artist looking to help with a game,” only to be shot down by programmers.

@Demetrius_Dixon Cheers, I will think about coop way down the line - doing my best to be mindful of scope creep and just getting single player working.

@kittyz333 awesome, hit me up when you are ready =)

@soapspangledgames so true, surely there is a platform to make these connections, anyone know of one?

That is a great idea! I am pretty sure it would be filled with programmers requesting artists but still a great idea!

I might build one!

Edit: PS your game looks great BTW
