Inconsistent Attachment Limits for New Users

I know this is a very small gripe, but as a new user, I find the enforcement of what media I can and can’t post or the count limit varies depending on the context for a single post.

Initially, when creating my first post, I was able to upload multiple images, but no video, which is fine.

However, when editing the post after approval, it stated “new users can only attach a single image” after already allowing me to attach 2 images, so the post will no longer save edits with both of those images present. I do not want to remove the second image to allow edits to save, as I was already allowed to post it, and it provides additional context to my post.

I’m not asking for the limits to be removed, I’m asking that they be made more consistent so things like this can be avoided. If new users can’t upload multiple images, that should be enforced at post creation time as well. If that limit is an old hold-over, please look at the editing logic to make sure it aligns with the create logic.

It’s not a breaking issue by any means, but it is mildy frustrating as a new user.

Note:
This is also a fairly moot point, given that it’s not difficult to unlock the ability to post multiple images, but still kinda of confusing as a brand new user, so I thought I’d let you know.
