Sorry if this was already asked or submitted earlier..
I see this question and have asked this quite some times now: “Can you mark the accepted solution as accepted? It helps a lot when searching for the answer later and prevents asking the same question again.”
This is an example of today, where respondent posted this question a year after the fact.
I can imagine that a year later OP is quite busy doing other things (though maybe not in this case).
Is there a way to make it possible for a given role to have ‘accept’ rights, maybe with an extra disclaimer: “accepted by …”?
Thats a tall order for someone to take on the OP responsibility to accept an answer. It would mean understanding question, testing, finding out which reply is correct in a bunch of replies etc. Anyway in my opinion a better way is to use AI (I use Google Gemini which is built in to Chrome) help you find what you’re looking for and verify that the result is correct by understanding and testing it yourself
Moderators have that power, so if you stumble upon such an obvious case - let me know and I can mark it as solved. I already did it on the post you linked.
I agree with that, but in this example, OP specifically mentioned it solved their problem, just didn’t mark it as a solution.
I disagree with this. You can just as easily skip that first “ask AI” part and go straight to the “test it yourself” part, especially if your goal is understanding the issue and learning.
