Hi everyone! I’m sharing POP’EM!, a portrait arcade puzzle game I made with Godot and GDScript. I’d love some feedback from people trying it for the first time.
You pull back a colored ball, aim, and release to hit matching targets before your shots run out. There are 30 levels, with later stages introducing color-changing walls, black holes, and color mixing.
Source, screenshots, and setup instructions:
To try it, download or clone the latest main branch, import project.godot in Godot 4.6.3 standard (non-.NET), wait for asset import, and press F5. Please use main rather than the older release to get the latest fixes. This is currently a source-only test, not an installer or browser demo.
If you have about 10 minutes after setup, I’d particularly appreciate feedback on the introduction, pull-and-release controls, and difficulty of the first few levels. Were there any moments where you didn’t know what to do? Is the text clear in English, Simplified Chinese, or Traditional Chinese?
Automated regression checks are passing, but they don’t replace real play feedback. I haven’t verified every platform or physical touchscreen setup.
First impressions are welcome here. For reproducible bugs, please use Issues · netzilla1130/popem · GitHub and include your OS, Godot version, and steps to reproduce. Please remove personal information from screenshots or logs.
Even one specific example of something confusing would be helpful. Thanks for taking a look!
