Question Quality System

I’m new to this forum, so take my take with a grain of salt:
I like the idea of a certain path of action for helpers to take, but not doing non-verbal gestures that can make them feel offended like a thumbs down.
Let’s take the neutral road on the people posting badly written questions and topics by having 2 steps:

  • You see a new post. Then, when the title looks bad, or content is poor, or there is clear use of LLMs doing things the poster doesn’t understand, simply reply with.

Your post needs work:
Posting guidelines in #Help channel

  • Then leave the topic until the situation has improved. If they still don’t adhere, post the reply again. So to then, you only seriously reply to new topic (that have 0 answers) and ask proper-ish written questions, or older topics that have replied to you with a properly written question.

I’ve been a long time CachyOS (a popular Linux distro) forum helper and I got burned out from people asking a bunch of things and then posting the LLMs answers in the post reply to document their “learning process”.
This is what I would do if I were to go back in that forum.
