The ignoring of hostility is for me part of the gatekeeping aswell

For me that just a wtf, i did not write to conduct but i wrote a pm to a moderator asking what to do.

I will not write to conduct because i essentially don’t trust the moderation after how they do act.

One should be able if not to control them but to hold them to account to act in accordance with the guidelines of the project and the guidelines should be fair, a moderator should not arbitrarily delete stuff either even if they think they follow an own unwritten policy.

I do disagree. Because I have been a moderator on a number of forums in the past for many years. It is a thankless, time-consuming task. This is a forum where the moderators are volunteers. They owe no one anything. They do the best job they can.

This forum has a system for moderation. Flag posts. They get to it when they can. You’re upset because you got flagged and were unsatisfied with the answer you got. That doesn’t mean you didn’t get attention. You just didn’t get as much as you think you were owed.

That’s not gatekeeping. That’s us not getting our feelings hurt on your behalf. I’ve called @normalized out multiple times for being an a**. We both get along fine.

If you refuse to use the proper channels for moderation, and don’t feel you can trust that you are going to be treated fairly by moderators, I don’t see that there’s any good reason for you to be here. I mean that as in for your own comfort

I hope you can find a community where you feel comfortable and safe, and I’m sorry you’ve hit it off poorly with this one

Fair point there, and i think i would not be here or care, but i want to start with godot, and this is the official forum, it is listed as first place to go on godotengine.com so this is the reason i think this should be welcome and open.
If the forum were just any community forum i really would not care.

Let me add this: My first stay in the forum was the reason i decided not to start with Godot but give Unity an other chance.
Dont think the forum does not reflect on the community as long this is the official forum!

But I’ll give this suggestion: if you are going to be active in this forum, you will need to listen to moderators and respect the rules and use the proper tools to engage with issues. If you won’t then you’ll likely get banned, do with that what you will

Best of luck, I genuinely wish you’d work through these issues and this frustration and resentment and that you’ll be comfortable in this forum, but please be respectful to others

And I don’t regret engaging in this thread, despite it leading nowhere, as I genuinely want people to actually be comfortable and welcome here, but some times it just isn’t meant to be it seems

To be fair to this forum, in my experience, everyone has been super nice and helpful

Even if someone doesn’t agree with the content or topic, I’ve noticed a lot of restraint and patience.

I do appreciate your concerns and they’re valid, but imo I would just assume positive intent by the people in here, unless proven otherwise.

I only know you from your posts. So my assesment below is solely based on what you have posted on this forum.

In my opinion, you should not flag elitism answers.

Because either your English isn’t good enough to make that assessment, or you lack the ability to distinguish which post has “elitism,” “gatekeeping,” and the other terms you mentioned in your first post.
