If I test my game (4K) on a small monitor, I would see the game scaled to a smaller window like 1/4 size to see Debugger output and other things in IDE. But if I press “Play” I was bombed with a game window larger then my screen resolution. How I can set the playback size (testing size) of the game? I can edit the playback speed in playback window, but not the size (to see how the game looks an smaller monitors or to see the debug output window in the background).
Thanks
PS: If I activate the scale option in project settings, only the graphics are scaled. The window remains large.
It’s in Project → Project Settings → General → Display → Window.
I know that. But is this not my design resolution? If I change these values, my szene borders are to small now in the 2D scene editor. I always did it this way in my old projects (many years ago). Unfortunately, I can no longer find the window size setting. Here is a screeshot from an old Godot 3 project (sorry, german), but “Testbreite” und “Testhöhe” means test width and test height. Exactly what I’m looking for…
Test width and height can be found in the same place if you turn on advanced settings
Ah! Thanks for the hint. “Advanced settings” seems new in Godot 4. Now I can see the settings I want. I’m just wondering why this setting, which I consider important for testing, has been moved to “advanced.” Maybe you should reconsider that. Thanks!
None of us work on the project. We are just volunteers helping out other people. If you want to make a recommendation like that, you can do so in the GitHub project.
