Z and Y axis are in the wrong place.

I received a recommendation to check this out, but the Z axis is interchanged with the Y axis and I can’t find any way to correct this.

When the 3d plane was envisioned, x and y were used across the ceiling as a flat plane, and Z was the vertical axis. Changing the Z and Y axis is unintuitive and not how the original coordinate system was envisioned.

Is there any way to fix this?

There is no “correct” or “wrong” order for the axes, since it isn’t something universal across all 3D programs. See the documentation for a comparison across various 3D apps:

Therefore, there is no option provided to switch coordinate systems in Godot and there are no plans to add one.

I’ve been in the field for over three and a half decades and I’ve only come across a few that switch the axis. There is a correct way which is how the coordinate system was first envisioned.

There really isn’t a standard.
