4.3_mono works, fresh 4.4.1_mono crashes on edit new project

Question

Hi all!

I installed and worked w/ Godot 4.3 mono (mobile renderer) last year and had no problems. I was able to work through a handful of tutorials, all of which still work on my machine w/o any problems.

Today I downloaded 4.4.1 mono (mobile renderer) and I can’t seem to even create and edit a new project (let alone editing any 4.3 projects). I Create a project and attempt to Edit it and it crashes and closes out. I’ve even ran it in Console mode, but not a single error appears in the console (that I can see) before it crashes.

Where can I go to view some useful log files?
Can you think of anything specifically different about 4.4.1 vs 4.3 that might be causing this issue?

I guess I could just use 4.3, but I was really looking forward to doing some real development soon using the latest and greatest. Any help is greatly appreciated :folded_hands: Thank you!

Machine

My machines is a bit old (sysinfo below).
It’s a Microsoft Surface Book 2 w/ onboard Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 chips.
It’s very likely that drivers are quite old, maybe even .NET version. But before I go downloading and attempting to update everything, just wanted some direction because Godot 4.3 mono still works for me w/o issue.

Update

Actually, it looks like it’s working w/ the Compatibility renderer, just not the other two.
I’m specifically looking to do mobile, so was trying to use the Mobile renderer…

Do you think it’s just a matter of updating drivers?

Yep, that did it :+1:

I’ll leave this thread here in case anyone has something similar.
There were no obvious errors, but if some renderers don’t work, then update those drivers.
