Advice on Pseudo 3d top down game

So, I am making a top down game, but it is going to have houses with multiple stories, and bridges and other more 3 dimensional type things but in a 2d game. I want to have gravity in this, but I’m not sure what the best way to detect surfaces to land on is, any advice?
