Can Godot C# be used with MonoDevelop or is VisualStudio a requirement?

I’ve always preferred MonoDevelop over VS due to its simplicity and how fast it runs and was greatly saddened when Unity decided to replace MD with VS. Is it possible to use MonoDevelop for Godot C# projects or is VS a requirement?

VS was never a requirement. The only requirement for the mono version is the .NET SDK to be installed. When you launch the engine, you can pick what IDE you use in the Editor options, if you scroll down all the way to “mono”
