Can GPUParticles3D spawn at sub frames?

Question

Hi all,

I’ve run into this a few times and I couldn’t seem to find much on it so I thought I’d check here.

Just finding that the emission of particles can sometimes be gappy, like this…

No matter how much I crank the amount, it still looks like this. I guess it’s because of the emission cycle, Is there a way to fill those gaps out? Sub frame emission or something like that?

Thanks,

Pete

Try increasing fixed_fps to match your actual frame rate. If that’s not enough, you can try increasing both.

If you need a continuous trail there are better ways to do it than densely emitting particles.

Hmm sounds like something I probably shouldn’t mess with . But out of interest, where is the fixed_fps setting? I’m struggling to find much about it.

In particle node properties in “time” section.

Hehe, missed that :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

Thanks!

Pete

Oh there is a little bit on this here too -
