Cant change root node of imported 3d character

I am following a youtube tutorial for importing a 3d character. The creator is an an older version where the “change type” option is still available after right clicking the root node of the scene. I am trying to change the root node that is the character from a regular 3d node to a “character body 3d” node. Please helppppppppp

It’s an advanced import setting on the imported model, double click your glb/fbx/dae file and select “Root Type” on the right.

What I do is import the character, right click on make inherited scene. Save the scene and add it as a child to a characterbody3d node. I’ve used change type in 4.3 but it doesn’t always show. It’s basically the mesh for the characterbody. I don’t have any problems with it that way. You might try not making it an inherited scene and then I think you can change the type. If it’s inherited, it won’t let you change the type.
