Demo Italia 1915-1918

Hey! Remember that World War I game I told you about? Well… the first Alpha Demo is ready! :video_game:

It’s called “Italia 1915-1918” and I poured my heart into it. You play as an Italian logistics officer trying to keep everything running: supplies, convoys, troops to feed and generals to please.

Now I need some brave volunteers! If you’d like to give it a spin and tell me what you think, that would mean the world to me.

:warning: Quick disclaimer: it’s an Alpha Demo, so expect some bugs and some features that aren’t fully defined yet. It’s all part of the process! If you find anything off, please don’t hesitate to report it.

Quick reminder:

  • From the main menu → Settings you can change the language (Italian, English, French and German)
  • Also there, you can choose whether to start the tutorial or not

You don’t need to write an essay, even a “I got lost here” or “this doesn’t work” is perfectly fine.

Soldiers! The front is evolving. Today we are releasing Alpha Update 1.2, the most significant update to the game’s core mechanics yet. We’ve moved from real-time to a Turn-Based System to give you more tactical control over your command.

:hourglass_not_done: A New Way to Command: Turn-Based Gameplay

The war machine now moves in four distinct phases. Every day is divided into:

  • Morning / Afternoon / Evening / Night This change allows you to plan your logistics and resource management with much higher precision. To help you track your progress, a Daily Report will now greet you every morning.

:castle: Base Expansion & Personnel

Your camp is growing. We’ve added new functional buildings and a more depth to how they operate:

  • New Buildings: The Prison, Latrines, and Kitchens are now fully operational.

  • Active & Passive Actions: Buildings now react to your staff! Assigning personnel to a building will now trigger specific Active and Passive actions.

  • Sergente Bepi: Meet the newest member of your command! Sergeant Bepi is now in charge of the Kitchens and Supplies (Salmerie).

:bar_chart: Strategic Intel & UI Improvements

Information is power. We’ve overhauled the UI to keep you better informed:

  • New Side Panel: Instantly monitor your Warehouse levels, available manpower, and Hospital status at a glance.

  • Functional Panels: The Missions and Communications panels are now fully operational.

  • Logistics Reports: You will now receive a detailed report of all goods unloaded every time a convoy arrives.

  • Mayor Dialogues: Interactions with local authorities have been improved for better immersion.

:gear: Quality of Life & Settings

We’ve added more control over your experience:

  • Video Settings Menu: Tailor the graphics to your hardware.

  • Customizable Experience: You can now toggle the Tutorial and the Honor Guard (Flag ceremony) on or off in the settings.

  • Audio & Feel: Added button click sounds and a general rebalancing of all resources for a fairer challenge.

Thank you so much for help! I think I solved the problem, the problem is a enkryptcode and the version , because need 4 number and I used only 2 number. Please try to download again, I insert a new link, I download and tested in another pc and it work!, enjoy, and let me know!

Very nice presentation, though the English translation is kind of spotty. I like the down-low view of the base, “historic” photos, etc, it has a lot of character :slight_smile:

Overall I wasn’t quite sure what to do - I set my soldiers to man and repair buildings, tried negotiating with every other town I could, and just took turn after turn after that. Timber didn’t seem to be available anywhere, which ultimately stopped my progress.

I found negotiating quite confusing, and wasn’t aware of why it failed or succeeded. It also seems like a necessary thing to go through, as a failed attempt still gives XP, and doesn’t seem to have negative consequences.

My notes, in no particular order:

  • There are sometimes choices (like events) where one option is better than the others (ie +10 morale vs -10 morale) - is there ever any point to choosing the inferior one?
  • Material names are in Italian in the Map → other city screen and other places
  • It would be nice to have access to audio options during play. Why not have it in settings?
  • Consider using your icons for resource types in the resource overview, and showing a filling bar as well as a number to give a quick impression of what stores are full / empty.
  • Camera move is very sensitive when zoomed in, especially with keys
  • “MINI-GAME” button doesn’t seem to work?
  • The soundtrack is pretty insistent, some tracks even with vocals… too much for background music in my opinion.
  • The personnel menu scrolls both sliders and the page - it can’t really do both
  • I had a soft crash when the personnel menu froze - I couldn’t get away from it, but the escape menu worked.

Thanks for the feedback and advice, I’ve taken note of your suggestions and will get to work on fixing them right away. I have a lot of things to fix, I did it all myself and considering that I started in September I consider myself lucky that the game works, of course I have a lot to improve but I’m slowly completing it.

The tutorial should start, if it is not activated, enable it from the settings!

Damn, that’s impressive! I started a project around that time which is only just getting done now, much smaller in scope :slight_smile:

I think getting the translation complete would help a lot with clarity for us who don’t read Italian. Particularly the feedback report you get (maybe daily?), resource names and other things related directly to gameplay.

I’ve already taken note of your feedback and am working on it! I’m reworking the strategy map; it will be different in the near future.
