Do I need a paid apple dev account?

Is it possible to export to macOS without having a paid apple account? Or is there a work around this for me to test?I tried and it fails to even open the exported file, I see it says "Apple Team ID is required for notarization", "notarizing with ad-hoc signature is not supported", and "using ad-hoc signature the exported file will be blocked by Gatekeeper". I only need a macOS file for me to test the export process, because im on Mac and I can't test if my Microsoft export is working for obvious reasons.

Have you checked the documentation for running exported games on MacOS?

Or more specifically, there’s a case for this in the docs if you do not have an Apple developer ID

I started reading that first link and got discouraged after going to apples page. I guess if I was patient and kept looking I would have found the second link. Thank you!
