Does anyone have ever tried to do player swimming / players physic on water in Isometric 2D environment?

I have an idea of making a video game that involve swimming on it, the main map is on isometric tile, so I just thought it will be cool if I implement the isometric tile in swimming mechanic also. But I have no idea wether it will be great or kinda weird.

Playing with perspectives in videogames seems like a lost art. In my opinion, isometric is making a comeback so it might be a great moment, commercially, to get to it. Artistically, it’s always a good moment to get started.
