Hi everyone,
I’m developing a desktop application with Godot 4.7 and have noticed an issue with font clarity.
My setup:
- Font: Source Han Sans
- Stretch mode:
canvas_items - Font import
Oversampling:0(automatic)
When I resize the application window, the font does appear to be rendered again at the new scale. However, the text still looks slightly blurry, both at the base window size and when the window is enlarged.
I tried adding an extra amount to the sampling factor calculated from the window scale—for example, adding 0.5—and the text looked noticeably clearer. I’m not sure whether this is an appropriate workaround or whether other settings, such as antialiasing or hinting, could explain the difference.
Is this expected behavior, or could it be a known bug with automatic font oversampling?
Are there recommended settings or approaches for improving text clarity across different window sizes? Also, are there any existing proposals or planned improvements to automatic oversampling or font rendering that might address this?
Links to relevant issues, discussions, or documentation would be appreciated. Thanks!
