Hey folks, I’m making some Glowy Pinball! Think 2D pinball with an Asteroids Deluxe/Geometry Wars aesthetic (what’s sometimes known as “neo-retro” or “synthwave”).
I’m just starting to share my work as a solo-dev on an ongoing basis, and felt this one would make a good first.
A (very early) build is “playable” on itch.io :
There isn’t a game there yet, but you can check out the basic flipper physics and a first pass at the aesthetics.
I also did a write-up that goes into my motivations for releasing early, and provides a recap of my work so far on the aesthetics (in Godot):
Would love any feedback, esp. if you’ve worked on a similar aesthetic, or on pinball.
I’ll be posting progress updates in this thread as the game comes along.
Meanwhile, I’ll leave you with a short video capture:

It’s nice to see a 2D pinball game pop up. In my opinion, 3D is one D more than pinball needs
I’m looking forward to seeing what it turns into, for now I had fun just trying to shoot the ball back in the plunger lane.
Thanks for giving it a try, and good to hear it ran well enough to shoot for the plunger lane
There are some things in store I’m excited about beyond just the aesthetics, but starting out with this helped me kick off the work.

It would be nice if you added a score board so that you can see how many times you bounced it. It would also be cool if you can more tiles. Overall, really nice game.
Yeah, as a matter of fact, I am working on some score stuff right now Hopefully won’t be too long before I can show it.
Hey folks, been busy working on some game systems, but I just put out Release 0.2.0 on itch.io with a couple of small but fun updates:
Full details are in the release post , but here’s a quick overview:
You can now cycle through different looks for the ball:
Also, the plunger visuals have been improved:
Well, that’s it for now. As always, if you have any feedback I’d love to hear it!
