Godot 3.6 2d is better than Godot 4 or 4.4

The tilemap system in godot 4 is ruined and it reduces workflow, i find it funny that they really like the idea to change how everything works with tilemaps, in 3.6 i can easily convert a scene with sprites into a tilemap now in 4 bro, anyways let me hear your thoughts about this

I don’t think the General > Events category is correct for this post.

Where should it go?
It seems like the right fit to me.

If that is your only complaint then I think you are incorrect.
Certainly, GDScript is a superior beast to the older one.
I like TileMapLayers over the TileMap from 3.x.
I have never been a fan of the built in tile tilemap editor but it is workable.
Maybe you could detail more of the issue you are facing. Maybe you are missing something (and maybe not).

In 4.4.1 you can literally just drop a png into a tileset and have it automatically divide it up. It’s definitely a little more work than 3, but it’s much more powerful and easier to use once you understand it now.

I actually meant I wasn’t a fan of the tilemap editor but I posted wrong.
But I have some issues with the tile editor as well.
For example, the physics layer collisions editor is frustrating to use. It needs a complete makeover.

Probably not the events category, because this is not an event?

Events is a tag. The category is solely General.
I see no big deal in his mistake with the tag since he did choose the correct Category.

Edit:
Apparently there is a thing called a sub-category and one of them is Events.
First I have ever noticed it was just now.
Although Events is also a tag, this is my mistake here.

??? !!!

This logic is wack, I had to say it. General > Events are a subcategory. Tags are a separate thing.

I even made a Forum Feedback post about this, it isn’t the end of the world, but come on now.

Obviously I love Godot, but I have to agree. TileMapLayers are “better” in the sense they do more, but they’re so complicated. I had to watch like an hour of tutorial videos to figure out how to use them. Half the options in the Inspector, half the options in the bottom panel, half the options behind a tab in the bottom panel… And you need to use them all to set it up

I agree in all Accounts lol Check out my Godot 3 stuff . They dont know it yet , but Godot 3 can do all thing’s lol https://jonestecforall.itch.io/
