So I (painfully) swapped over to godot 4.4 yesterday, and after some rudimentary testing I’ve found that the engine is a fair bit slower than the previous version. I average a stable 60 in a testing scene, with baked lighting, reflection probes, and PBR textures on 4.3, but moving to 4.4 it caps out at ~45 FPS with the metal rendering backend. What’s more is that swapping over to the Vulkan backend improves performance (back to 60 FPS) but is significantly more stuttery than the 4.3 version. I’m going to create an MRP/do some more data collection but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
