Godot Version
Godot v4.4.1
Question
I am having issues transferring my project from my laptop to my pc. I grab the entire folder and put it on a USB. Then I plug in the USB into my pc and transfer them into my documents. I then import them into them into Godot. The problem starts when I try to add anything into a scene. Godot freezes and becomes unresponsive. It doesn’t go white or a pop up doesn’t say the window is unresponsive. It will just lock up. I have tried multiple USBs and the results are the same. I can play the scene but I can not add anything to it or it will lock up.
Hi,
To work on different PCs, you should use a version control system such as git. If you’re not familiar with it, there are a lot of resources you can find to help you.
Now, in my opinion, your problem doesn’t seem related to the file transfer itself but the PC you’re using. Have you tried doing the same transfer to another machine, if that’s possible?

I just tried it and it worked on the second pc. I have multiple monitors setup. For some reason the create new node windows it popping up on my furthest left monitor. The left monitor was showing a different input. I think the computer was displaying the window on the monitor I could not see anything on. Thank you for the help.
Interesting, I remember that a colleague of mine had a similar issue when dragging scenes into another, and the reason was she had her FileSystem displayed on her secondary monitor.
Seemed like an engine bug so the fix was simply to stop using her secondary monitor for this purpose.
That second monitor was a tv. My dog tripped over the HDMI cable and disconnected it. I never plugged it back in and the window is now showing on my actual monitors in front me. I have 3 monitors and had one tv connected to my pc. I just wanted to add more info. I was losing my mind. Thanks again have a great day.
