Linux wayland(hyprland) Issues with making UI elements floating and then move to a seperate workspace

Godot Version

Godot Engine v4.3.stable.mono.arch_linux

Question

I’m having some issues with the ‘make floating’ functionality of the in-engine ui menu’s, if I make them floating in the same workspace as godot everything is fine, but when I move them to a different hyprland workspace or ‘scratchpad’ the engine is effectively unusable until I move them back (stuttering / 2 fps) . I tried running engine with arg: --display-driver wayland but now I’m unable to make any window floating (option greyed out). Has anyone else experienced this, or know if this feature is compatible with wayland?

update: found that it was the editor vsync setting causing this (needed to turn it off)
