About a months ago we shared our first teaser trailer for our game Maskborne as well as launched our Steam page. It’s 2d hand-drawn dark metroidvania with an emphasis on the visuals, music and movement mechanics.
Ori, Hollow Knight, Ghibli and Zelda are the main inspirations for this. Grabbing different elements from each.
This is my first ever game, and it’s been an interesting journey so far. I’m really enjoying the challenges and I feel like Godot has been the perfect engine for this.
The Godot subreddit has been a great resource for me, as well as the docs honestly. Not sure why I never found out about the forum until now.
So I hope you’ll forgive me that the first post from me here is about the game we’re working on.
I’ve created devlogs along the way if anyone is interested in seeing some more behind-the-scenes progress as well ![]()
