My first game made with Godot:

Hey all Godot people

I’ve just finished making my first game with Godot.

It’s a tiny 2d action game where your health is your light and you have to avoid the darkness.

It’s not very polished but just thought I would share.

Any feedback is appreciated!

For a little game it was fun! That dark blob getting bigger and bigger was a real treat. I really wanted to see how big it could get before it got me. You could certainly explore this a little bit more if you chose to. It could be expanded in so many ways. But as a little fun thing, very good.

Thanks for sharing it.

It was actually pretty fun. I got 163 lol. I didnt realize the darkness was growing until i reached abt 100 and then I was like “oh no”. I assumed wasd to move but didn’t know, so maybe a something explaining to players how to move? I enjoyed it.

You guys need to lock in

Fun game. There’s some things you can experiment with if you choose to continue development. For example, at some point the black blob simply got too big to get around. That means there’s currently a hard limit for the high score. I assume it’ll be between 200 and 230. If there’d be an option to shrink it or get around another way, you could extend the span of a round. Of course, if you desire.

Also, what was the purpose of the blue spheres in the corners exactly? They’d light up but I didn’t know what else it’d did!

They refill your life (light thingy). How did you get 198 without using them! Good score!

First off, wow, thank you very much for all the feedback.

I was not expecting anybody to actually play the game, I just wanted to throw it out there and see if it got any attention, so to have people play it, I am very grateful.

Here is a github repo with the source code (MIT Licence) if anyone is interested in playing around with it:

I’m moving onto other projects and will hopefully have something to share soon.

It was surprisingly fun to play ^^’ I tried to get the highest score possible, finding best strategies, etc

really nice one

Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed playing it. You can definetly do more with it, if you want. But as a first godot game, well done!!!

You should make something like shapes and beats with this concept
