Looks like you set the snails layer to 2, so it’s on the same layer as the player, but it’s mask is still 1, so it’s only detecting mob collisions. And now the player probably can’t detect it either. That’s all it should be, I would say it’s better to queue_free the powerup from the player’s side so you can be certain the effect starts. if body is SnailPowerup: # add slowdown effect body.queue_free() Might mke it less complicated to only have one connection
