NodeWorthy does NOT YET produce games for WEB, Android or IOS. But its coming very soon.
BTW: We are creating our own game with NodeWorthy. NodeWorthy started out as a in-house tool that we were going to use just for ourselves.
I have included a readme for using this with mac version. We do not yet have a mac key still working on getting that. As we lead up to final release we are having lots of work to do. LOL
Why, oh why do these games always start with the sound at 100%, before one has a chance to set the levels in āOptionsā..? I now, prudently, cut the sound of my PC before launch, and bring it back up just a little. For āHollow Spireā, I set the Master volume to 5%; I would have been more comfortable at 2%, but⦠Whatever. With the initial 100% level, window glass would shatter. Just sayinā.
Thank you, yes that stutter has been sorted. The games were created about 2 months ago and still use an older version of the engine. Things are moving fast and I will eventually create another game showcasing more. But believe me, optimisation is our top priority.
You do realise its not a full game and has NO tweaking its just a demo, right? When you use the tool, you can set that to anything you want, its your choice, thats what its all about.
I have set the volume down to 30% in the new builds, which I will upload shortly.
This seems amazing. Definitely seems like a great way to prototype at the very least. I have a few question though.
How does it connect to Godot? I see in the questions that you can keep them separate but Iām trying to understand the work flow between Godot and NodeWorthy.
Is it built within Godot or a separate game engine that compiles code to run internals whilst using Godotās rendering, physics, etc.
How does compilation work? Is it live coding like GDScript or do you need to compile before playing?
Sorry if this info is somewhere in the documentation, but I tried looking for it and couldnāt immediately tell. Perhaps a demo would let me try it and tell by myself. Still, 30$ is cheap enough that I might just pay to try it.
NodeWorthy is a standalone C++ APP that has a āsemiā configured version of GODOT. Inside it initially looks custom with colours and our Graphs and our tool tabs. We provide a button on the top right that allows you to switch back and forth to Godot and our Tools. So you do not lose anything from Godot, but gain everything we provide. You can still use GDScript if you want, you can write scripts that extend our library and they automatically appear in our library for you to use. Playing is still simple like you do in Godot right now, simply press the āplay sceneā button. Exporting out is still through Godot as you would now. At the moment we only supply Windows and Mac export. Android and IOS will come very shortly.
Before release I will post videos showing how this all works. We are very busy at the moment, only 2 people on the project but I will not release until we have some proper getting started videos. To prototype most games can be done in minutes. Then its just a case of adding tweaking and anything custom that your game needs. Anything you can do with Godot, you can do with NodeWorthy and it basically performs MUCH better as the core functionality is hand optimised C++. I am a retired software engineer with extensive experience programming the PS1 where nothing was done for you and everything was in C, optimising was literally the only way to get anything out of that machine.
We have some VERY exciting ideas for the future of this product. Keep an eye on it.
Thank you for the swift response! Correct me if Iām wrong but sounds like itās a fork off of Godot then? If so, what is your update and parity strategy? Can I pull Godot updates and still work with NodeWorthy? Or would I have to wait for NodeWorthy to be validated and update to get any new Godot features?
No you cannot use any version of Godot with NodeWorthy. NodeWorthy will always ship with the latest STABLE version of Godot. We already have it running with Godot version 4.8 and as soon as version 4.8 is STABLE we will upgrade. That is basically how it will work, we will always be ready to upgrade to the latest STABLE version of Godot.
Update 17 October 2026: We are waiting for Steam approval which hopefully will happen in the next few days. We have made some VERY EXCITING changes to NodeWorthy, which we will announce when we have enough to show everybody. I truly believe what we have now is better than anything āsimilarā in the market place.
Note: We have also added open world streaming, its written in c++ and can support huge levels. We have also added āthingsā for flight and tank control.
