Released Dice'n Goblins on Steam a cute Dungeon Crawler!

Hello everyone!

We released this game on Friday! We made it in Godot 4 over the course of 1.5/2y.

It’s a full adventure game of 12/15h, a story and a cool combat system:

I picked up gamedev as a hobby around 3 years ago in 2022 and I didn’t know how to draw, 3D modeling or anything. Development of the game have been pretty rough, but people joined me during the project, my partner first and then testers and translators.

I’m very proud of what we done.

I’m also thankful for the Godot community. People putting their shaders available via GodotShaders, but also plugins or code has been really helpful. Finally people from the French discord server were also very nice and helped me with technical roadblocks.

You can also try the demo.

I see you’re using the KayKit dungeon! Nice! I also really like the toon shader you have on it. I really like the use of the water shader, and how the fights start off with everything dropping into place. The UI is really solid. The settings menu was good. The volume was set at odd places I thought. Instead of at 100 it was at like 52 and 20 for Music and SFX.

You did a really good job with the in-game tutorials. The hand drawn graphics are cool as well. I also really liked the dice falling in the Inventory screen.

I only played for 30 minutes, but it’s a solid game and delivers what it says it does. I got really nostalgic dungeon exploration vibes. It reminded me of the old D&D Gold Box games.

That said, I’m over dungeon exploration games personally. Really impressive job though.

Vous avez fait un excellent travail!

Merciiiiii!

Indeed, it’s inspired by classic dungeon-crawlers in feels and gameplay.
Thanks for trying out the game and taking time to tell me a nice thing. This makes me happy!

De rien!

I was very impressed with the array of video settings you had. Some of those I’m still trying to figure out.

Hopefully, we only have to figure them once :weary:
