Request for help finding a replacement translator.

Hello, Godot community and developers—I have a question.

I’ve finally stopped working on translations on Weblate because I don’t have time to work on them anymore.

Reason: I’ve shifted my focus to game development on Godot 4 to keep myself busy, and translation doesn’t really benefit me enough to keep working on it.

Another reason: I’m getting tired of translating, and I haven’t logged into Weblate in a long time to translate anything—I just don’t feel like doing it anymore, which is why I switched to game development.

Because of this, I need your help.

Can you find a Ukrainian translator to replace me—someone who will take over and ensure your project is fully translated to 100%, so that all the strings are translated?

If you need any clarifications, leave a comment, and I’ll read it.

Please just help me find a replacement for me on Weblate, if possible.

You want us to find someone to take over your work on “Weblate”? If this Weblate is really the tool Godot engine is using to translate then it seems like Ukranian is 99% complete, I wouldn’t worry about finding an immediate replacement because it’s a community effort and it’s nearly complete. Why do you need a replacement?

So, let me explain why.

When I left my work on Weblate—whether for no reason or for the reasons mentioned above—there was nothing to replace it with, and the existing translations were left unattended, since I had previously been 100% responsible for ensuring the translations were ready and for continuing to work on them myself.

In other words, if I’m not on Weblate, and Godot—with its translation project that adds about 2,000 lines every 3–4 months—isn’t replaced by someone else, the work could pile up, especially since Godot developers are actively working on their engine, and every task adds lines of text that need to be translated.

I understand that you’re asking this in relation to me, but it’s better to prepare in advance just in case, so that we’re ready to support Ukrainian translations in the future.

If anything is still unclear, feel free to write—I’ll reply wherever you like.
