SuperSalo - unlicensed 1975 film license text adventure game

I was unsure whether to share this thing that I’ve created, but since no one freaked out previously, I’ll assume it’s safe

The game is a text adventure in a 90’s PC style, despite the “Super”. It’s based on the film Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom (1975), a highly controversial film that touches on a lot of pretty horrific themes.

My game version captures many scenes from the film, but takes an arguably more light-hearted approach. It does however contain lo-res death, blood, nudity and worse, so be warned.

I’ve been working on it for about six months, and at this point I really just want to finish it. It’s feature- and content complete, though I would like to cut some dialogue and introduce a few more quests.

I’m more than open to feedback, and would be honored if anyone wants to give it a spin

All told, the game has about:

  • 29 NPCs, each with a decent dialogue tree

  • 12 somewhat interactive cutscenes that mirror the events of the film (the cutscene visuals are taken from the film and treated somewhat)

  • 3 major endings - escape from the mansion, joining the fascists, and death at day 120

  • 50 AI-illustrated areas

  • A 10-track soundtrack composed for solo piano in the style of the film

  • ~50 AI-illustrated items, some important, some not

  • Some number of quests that’s not quick to count, but certainly exceeds the number of characters. From gentle romances to stuff I won’t describe here

It’s also riddled with things that could be improved, but at this point I just want it to be completable, enjoyable, and out the door

Is this a duplicate of this topic?

No, that was more of a test to see people’s response to the bad stuff in the game. This is a release of sorts, with a playable beta.

You could have just added a link to the game’s website in the first thread. Especially since people were asking about it there. Then again, maybe it doesn’t matter.

I can’t delete the topic, so I’ve now flagged it for deletion
