Webeditor or Android app on Chromebook

Godot Version

N/A

Question

Hi, I want to use Godot -new to Godot- on a Chromebook. Read the docs and as I can see there are two options. Webeditor or Android app.

I cannot figure out what will be best? Are there differences? Pros/cons?

Regards, Harry

I would think that it depends on if you have a touch screen or not.

However I think the android app would give you a fuller more integrated experience although I have not looked at either for a while and things may have changed.

I would suggest you use the app first, but there is no reason you cannot try them both out. They both have limitations though as compared to the desktop version. I think the web editor is a lot more restricted but I have heard the app on a chromebook is where it really shines (as opposed to a tiny phone screen).

The web app i.e Godot Engine Web Editor (4.4.1.stable.official) is very limited, it’s hard to get files in/out of it and it only supports the “Compatibility” renderer.

The android version may be a better fit if you do not want to install linux on your chromebook.

Tnx for the answers. I will try the app first.
