Disclaimer : I’m far from being a ‘gamer’ (just turned 76…).
Intrigued, however, I didn’t get far. Too dark to see what’s happening, and the game-pad controls (yes, I have a game-pad..!) were very ‘flaky’ (didn’t do what I expected…). Keyboard worked, but, without any on-screen assistance, no real idea of what to do (hold down, not just ‘pick up’…). Nice try; no cigar. I might try again the v.2 if it gets updated. Well done for getting something ‘out there’, though.
Nice work so far . I can see the vision. It has a nice retro charm to it.
Quick suggestions from me:
The camera may need to be set offset at all times. Its quite a rapid-transition from idle to when it looks ahead. Or you could slow down the camera speed; but that might get in the way of gameplay. or, maybe the camera position when you’re idle is half-way forward.
Might need to change the bind from Esc to something else as it snaps you out of full screen on itch.
Pressing E - Id personally speed the progress bar up. Unless you have a specific vision for how lengthy it is, it feels longer than it needs to be.
Thank you so much for taking the time to try out my game.
You’re absolutely right about the darkness – I’ll definitely work on improving the brightness so everything is clearer.
I also realized I didn’t set up the gamepad controls properly – I’ll make sure they’re smooth and responsive in the next update.
I’ll also add a short tutorial at the beginning of the game so everyone knows what to do.
In the next version, I’ll fix all the issues you mentioned. I’d really love it if you could give it another try once I upload the new version and share your thoughts with me.
