15 Years of Game Dev / 3 Years into Godot! - Sci-Fi & Fantasy Projects!

I’m trying to get in the habit of sharing my work again and finding like minded people, also getting a bit tired at the moment but don’t want to sleep till I share my new video and details about my projects, so this post is going to be shorter than planned…

The video covers more stuff than this post but it’s pretty random… lol

Sci-Fi Project

Original inspiration was the canceled Prey 2. I technically started some sci-fi prototypes over a decade ago but this one started at the end of 2023 originally following the Prey 2 bounty hunter concept. I took a break after a year for my fantasy game and just in recent months came back to the sci-fi world with a smaller scale indirect prequel in mind.

(Here’s a simple little ship interior blockout)

(I got this neat dynamic with jetboots working with a jetpack to control flight)

(Now I’m focusing on a stealth action horror concept with hacking and a variety of tools)

At the moment I’ve got some AI implemented using LimboAI, the first person movement is coming along with sliding, climbing, peaking.. oh yeah I’m getting tired. I’ll make a more thorough post and devlog in the next couple months.

Fantasy Project

I technically started the project in 2016 after a decade of dreaming up fantasy ideas, but at this point the world building and narratives have spawned a few game ideas I’ve prototyped to various degrees in a few different game engines.

Alright I need to get some sleep… thanks for reading, I’ll get a website up and running again soon with all the details! Oh I’ll come back to add details and links too when I setup a few more profiles.

Amazing , but the question is was it worth it?

Ultimately I don’t regret anything, I’m frustrated that I never committed to releasing a commercial project yet but it’s fostered a lot of stories I’ll eventually release and I have experience in all the areas my games require now. I should finally have something impressive to show by the end of the year then maybe if the game sells well I can afford some help with more art, animations, vfx, sfx and music, all of which I’m slowly working on myself for the current project.
