Audio Out 16 SPEAKER_SURROUND_16

Question

So i got to audio out 8 with SPEAKER_SURROUND_71, any plans for 16 at least, or is this diy?

There are no plans I know of to expand audio output beyond 7.1, so you will have to develop a custom solution. I didn’t even know this was possible at an OS level in the first place :slight_smile:

PS: There is no Godot 4.7 yet, so please fill in the version field accurately in the future.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll poke around. Already tested a couple of soundcards with 4 and 8 outputs in Godot 3 and 4, and i have experience with multichannel audio 16, 48 outs, and this is something i would very much like to have in godotland.

Plus multichannel audio in linux is already kinda supported out of the box, even on generic audio interfaces, this looks like a nice entry point: AudioServer — Godot Engine (stable) documentation in English
