If Godot eventually grows into a commercially funded engine used for larger AAA-scale projects, do you think the core architecture (SceneTree/Nodes) would still scale well, or would the engine eventually need deeper changes like a job system or ECS-style systems to support that level of performance and complexity?

Well it’s already there more or less. Battlefield 6 used it for their map editor, Gotcha Gotcha Games used it for their new piece of software called Action Game Maker, and Slay the Spire 2 is using it too.
I’ve never hit performance issues with the engine at all before, with Unreal engine, even an empty scene makes my GPU fans turn on, and that engine is used by massive studios all the time. I highly doubt Godot has a performance or scalability issue.

Yes, most definitely. But I also think the general gaming world is waiting for people like us to do something great with the engine.
I’m personally hoping I pioneer PvP shooters for Godot devs. That’s one of my many goals with Monkanics.
