Help me draw a background in Godot 4.7.2

Godot Version

4.72

Question

I am following a tutorial by Brackeys to learn Godot. The next step is to add a background. He does this by going to layers in TileMap, and makeing 2 layers, he then moves the background layer on top and paints. I used TileMapLayer and i have no idea how to do that

You’ll need two TileMapLayer nodes, each for one layer. TileMapLayer node basically works as a single layer in now deprecated TileMap node.

Note that you can still use TileMap in 4.7 so maybe do that.

In general, when doing tutorials, use the same engine version the tutorial is using. Also don’t improvise until you’ve followed through. Then you can start experimenting and changing things up. Otherwise, there’s a chance you’ll get lost along the way.

Thank you very much ! I was wondering how do i get the same version as the tutorial?
