How to do FF7 Vincent's Satan Slam in Godot 4?

I would like to achieve this special effect similar to FF7 Vincent’s Satan Slam. See 0:42 of https://youtu.be/TVMCAXq31p0?si=hoaTE16rheAhJKdJ

The video shows you the green skull protruding from the green grassy surface, but if this move is used on other types of surfaces, the skull will have the texture of the ground it protruded from.

In Godot 4, is it possible to designate a point and have a skull object protruding up and also “copy” the texture of any object it protruded from?
