OceanPro 1.0 — GPU FFT ocean system for Godot 4.7

I’ve released OceanPro 1.0, a GPU-powered FFT ocean add-on for Godot 4.7.

It began as the water technology for Portolan, my historically grounded Caribbean sailing game. After spending six weeks focused on the ocean system, I packaged it as an editable Godot add-on for other sailing, exploration and coastal projects.

OceanPro includes:

  • three-layer FFT waves combining long swells, medium waves and surface ripples;
  • separate live controls for wind and swell direction;
  • persistent whitecaps;
  • contact foam and wetting around rocks, hulls and other objects;
  • GPU surface sampling and ready-to-use buoyancy;
  • Low, Medium, High and Ultra quality settings;
  • full editable GDScript and shader source;
  • a complete example project and detailed documentation.

The current release supports Windows 10 or 11, Godot 4.7.x, and the Forward+ renderer with Vulkan. A graphics card with compute-shader support is required.

OceanPro is a paid add-on at US$25 and includes the add-on and example project as separate downloads.

I’d especially value feedback on installation, documentation, performance across different GPUs, and how well it fits into existing Godot projects.

Looks good! But you should also add a couple of screenshots here.
