SSR freaks out on bright objects

Godot 4.2.2

I’m toying around with SSR, but the results are a mess. Fiddling with the parameters doesn’t help. The artifacts seem to be cause by bright objects or emissive materials.

I’m using DOF and glow in the screenshot, but turning them off doesn’t fix the isssue.

Can anyone tell me what is causing this or if there’s a way to fix it?

It looks like I’m running into this Issue:

You can decrease depth tolerance in the SSR properties in the Environment resource inspector to alleviate this issue to an extent.
