Recently i tried playing Polytoria 2.0, which was made in Godot 4 (i believe)
However, all of the text was replaced by “tofu” blocks of according size (so blocks that replaced “i” were thinner than those which replaced “G” or “L”)
Heres all the info i can provide:
Laptop: Dell Vostro 15-3568
OS: Windows 10
Reinstalling did not help
Transfering files from another pc where everything worked fine did not help
here is an AI summarization of the problem (i apologize for using AI but my knowledge in computers is not great)
“The variable-width tofu text bug in Polytoria 2.0 is occurring on a *Dell
Vostro 15-3568* laptop using *Intel HD Graphics 520/620* on Windows 10. The
client correctly calculates character width but fails to render glyph
content.”
Any help is greatly appreciated
I’d suggest writing to the creators of the game, doesn’t make much sense IMO to ask here
i tried but theyre either extremely busy or ignoring me TwT
My suspicion is that this is caused by the game depending on system fonts to draw text, and they are not available on your platform, which would likely not be possible to solve without the creators of the game fixing that, so I’d say the best solution is to wait for feedback from them and see
I presume this is what you’re talking about?
It looks like they include all the fonts used, but on the off chance they’re not loading, maybe you could just download all (quite a lot I see) the .ttf files and install them so they’re system fonts?
and see if the fonts then work in-game.
Otherwise it’s as @athousandships says, probably just best (and easier) to wait and see.
Thanks m8! Unfortunately i am willing to put myself through unnecessary trouble in order to not wait.
