I have to say that it might be a bit rude to ask someone right away if they want to make games with you. It’s kind of like asking a stranger to come to your home and work on something together.
If you really want to make games with other people, you should first talk to them and get to know them,what I like to call “online gamedev mates.” Then, maybe you can ask them.
It’s also good to have online gamedev mates because you can give and get help.

Well, i wouldn’t call it rude to ask right away, but generally it would be better to build trust first with new people.

I do think there’s a difference between asking someone to work on a project and asking to work on someone’s project.

I’ve been learning how to use Godot for the last couple months. I’m a beginner with games, but I know code generally. If that’s alright with you I’m down to work on whatever you’re doing

I am a really good programmer ( in both GD script and C# ) looking for a game project to contribute on. I wasn’t sure where to look, but as others have mentioned here, it would be great to talk first to align our ideas. The forum does indeed have direct messaging. You can just click on any user’s name and you’ll see a “Message” button.
However, OP seems to have been suspended for a little while, as you can see by the warning on their profile, so you might not be able to contact them for now.
